This blog is about my adventure of looking for a job. Couple of friends told me that I should write about it and maybe this might help out with the stress. Plus its an easy way for them, and others to find out which city/state/country I may end up once I find a job.
For those of you who don’t know… I recently graduated from Michigan State University with a BA in Telecommunications after nine long years. Yeah yeah yeah, heard it all: “better part of a decade”, “some people go to school for 9 years, they’re called doctors”, etc… What it means, though, is that I am desperately looking for work. I currently have a job, but since the pay is low and I have a “higher education”, I thought to look elsewhere. Problem is, no one is hiring. And the jobs I’ve found thus far aren’t anywhere near my area of expertise. What I specialize in is… well… uh… hard to explain. Not necessarily IT, but not a phone installer either. Basically its running the communication operations of a company. So that means phone, internet, etc… things of that nature. At least, that’s what I think.
So the search continues. Right now I’m checking out posts on job search sites. Next step after that is go one by one through Fortune 500 company websites looking for career oppurtunities. Wish me luck.
